Ms. DuVal is a graduate of Colorado State University, with the degree of Bachelor of Music, and of the Royal Northern College of Music in Manchester, England, with the degree of Master of Music. Her major instruments are flute and piccolo and she studied conducting and other aspects of musical leadership. She has taught in both public high school and her own private studio. In addition, she has ten years of experience in business, including six years in human resources. She has been performed with many groups, including the Fort Collins Wind Symphony and Orpheus Pagan Chamber Choir.
Her passion for music is evident and she is excited about working with UCH's rich pool of volunteer musicians and developing further as a leader through the Unitarian Universalist Musicians Network.
She and her family moved from Colorado to Harrisburg early in 2018. Yvonne, her partner Dean Leverett, and their son Terran have been here most Sundays since their move. She played at a service earlier this year and she and Dean led the Samhein Service.
Hannah has played the piano for over 50 years and has served UCH as one of its pianists since 2007. She has abundant experience as the service pianist and choir accompanist, playing for Thursday evening choir rehearsals, Sunday morning services at both campuses, weddings and memorial services over those years. Hannah retired from teaching in public elementary schools in 2015. She truly enjoys enriching the worship experience through music played from the heart and in fellowship with the other wonderful musicians who offer their talents to UCH with instruments and song.
