About Me

Rev. Lyn began serving our congregation in August of 2017. She recently served at UUYC (Unitarian Universalist Congregation of York) as their Interim Parish Minister. Before UUYC she served the UU's of Fallston, MD. Prior to that, she was a full-time consultant with the Unitarian Universalist Association and the Joseph Priestley District (JPD, our local association of UU congregations). Her first settlement was as the Assistant Minister for Education at the UU Society of Sacramento, CA. These experiences have brought her insights from leadership, faith development, and worship at every level and age group in our faith.

Rev. Lyn is a 2003 graduate of Starr King School for the Ministry and a 2014 recipient of a Master of Science in Pastoral Counseling from Loyola University in Maryland. During her counseling field work, she provided mental health support for children, adolescents, and their families. Before seminary, she worked in public relations for high tech, nonprofit, arts, and education settings.

Theologically, Rev. Lyn draws from the wisdom of prophetic women and men throughout UU history, from the experience of her interfaith UU-Jewish household, from her liberal Christian upbringing, and from her personal earth-based spiritual practice. She also studied Buddhism during seminary and in her first settlement. She notes that "praying with our hands and feet" by living out our UU values of justice, equality, and compassion is a path we can travel together as we learn to weave together our theological diversity.

A lifelong learner, Rev. Lyn is interested in running, sewing, science fiction, singing, and dinosaurs. Rev. Lyn lives in Baltimore with her family.
