We welcome Rev. Chris Kapp to the pulpit this Sunday for their service titled “Mr. Rogers, Nevin Lehman, and Other Minor Prophets.”
“When we think of prophetic folx, it’s easy to only focus on the ‘giants’ of our faith. But what about the so-called ‘minor’ prophets who walk quietly amongst us, lighting their small corners of the world? Sometimes, those who appear the most unassuming can change how we live our lives, and how we approach our faith, forever.”
Rev. Chris Kapp [they/them] is a graduate of the Salvation Army’s Seminary and Officer Training College in New York City. Among other things, Chris spent their ministerial internship as a first responder and then long-term relief worker at Ground Zero after 9/11. They subsequently spent nearly a decade serving in interim/transition ministers on the East Coast, then left the Salvation Army to pursue a career in homelessness advocacy and to step more fully into their own values and theology. Today Chris serves as a Housing Systems Change Advocate, working with agencies across 33 counties in Central PA. They are also an active member of UUCV in Boiling Springs, where they preach regularly and serve as the Worship Committee chair, YoUUth Group Leader, and lead OWL facilitator.
Join us Sunday morning at 10:30 in the sanctuary. The requirement of masks is based on the current COVID community risk level in Dauphin County. Masks are required for medium or high risk levels; they are optional when the county is in the low risk level. The current level will be posted on the front doors of the church.
You can also livestream the service via Zoom. The Zoom link for the November 6th service will be emailed Sunday morning. To subscribe to our email list, click on News in the menu bar above.
